This issue details innovative ways that community colleges and high schools can work together to help students navigate the difficult passage from secondary to higher education. Columbia State Community College is proud to have the distinction of being the first community college created in Tennessee. Construction of the new campus began in October 1965, and the first director of admissions, W.O. Johnson, was able to offer a schedule of classes for the fall of 1966.
